100% Pure Shea Butter

We are beginning to feel like we have full body chap with the frigid temperatures we have been experiencing. Having been up in the mountains we began to experience serious aprés ski skin on our face with full on red blooms and peeling skin.

Sheabutter We somehow ran out of our facial moisturizer and left in a bind we began applying the 100% Pure Shea Butter we had purchased at our favorite hometown herbal apothecary Rebecca's. And low our ski skin was repaired! We are seriously considering using shea butter on our entire body and chuck the rest of the products we dabble in. We would even go so far as to suggest bulk ordering shea butter as the prices one sees for shea butter products can be pretty astronomical. But if you like L'Occitaine has 100% Shea Butter. Its quite pricey at $8 for .25 ounces when you consider that buying in bulk will give you a pound for 7 dollars.

Fragrance Friday: I Want Sex and Perfume

We have never quite understand why it is that perfume commercials have to be so overtly sexual. Sometimes they just border on silly as far as we are concerned. We like this quick spoof commercials we found on Youtube very much.

 CKin2U Perfume Bottle Image

It could function as a nice satire of the the atrocious marketing campaign of Calvin Klein's new CKIn2U perfume. TechnoSexual indeed.

Japonesque Handy Bottle Pack For Beauty Travel

Must drugstores carry mini-bottles into which one can theoretically pour your expensive beauty routines when traveling. But most of the varieties we have found don't take into account the need for differing types of bottles or applicators. We just discovered Japonesque Handy Bottle Pack and we think they may be the solution.

Picture_5 Carry exactly what you need in a convenient go-anywhere size. This assortment of compact Japonesque bottles organizes your creams, gels, sprays and lotions in a zippered vinyl pouch. The caps screw on tight to prevent leaks and the pliable bottles wont crack or break. Assortment includes two bottles with wider openings for faster dispensing, a flip-top bottle with small opening for precision applications, a pump-top and a dropper bottle

Beauty Classic: Aquaphor

One of the true beauty greats isn't something we think of as a beauty product. Nurses, mothers, athletes and many others have discovered the value of Aquaphor. And according to website AquaphorUses.com models like it too!

Picture_4 We certainly adore the product for keeping our lips moist and in the harshest weather it even works on our face in a pinch. It is in short the perfect classic beauty product.

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser "Dry or Sensitive Skin"

The trouble with sensitive skin cleansers is that too often one sacrifices that "clean" feeling to avoid aggravation. You wash and yet your skin still feels a bit grimy. The only cleanser we have have ever found to keeps our skin comfortable and clean is Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser for "Dry or Sensitive Skin."

Clarins

The rich, lightweight lather of Gentle Foaming Cleanser offers all the benefits of cleansing with water; with no tightness, dryness or irritation.

Beauty Classic: Avon Skin So Soft Original Bath Oil

Sometimes there is a reason a beauty product has been around forever. One of our favorite classics is unsurprisingly Avon's Skin So Soft Bath Oil. We first encountered it in the shower of our aunt's guest bathroom after a long afternoon of horseback riding. She only had drying soap instead of our preferred shower gel so we found ourselves reaching for the oil after the thorough scrubbing of the dust and grime left our skin feeling a little parched.

Skinsosoft

We fell in love! Like the copy says Adored, raved about, idolized....it's the bath oil that outsells and out moisturizes the competition. Sure the bottle is boring, the ingredients are nothing new or novel, but i it works what is not to love?

Philosophy's Spiced Apple Cider: For Day's When You Can't Leave To Go Apple Picking

Apple picking seems like a quintessential fall activity. But for us city girls the call of the wild isn't as true as the call of the product. But the scent of spiced apple cider makes us feel as if we could possibly get in the car and hit ourselves an orchard. A truly invigorating showering with Philosophy's Spiced Apple Cider shower gel might do the trick.

It Was Only A Matter of Time and Money

Being naturally beautiful is apparently not a natural state. No, in fact most of us have to work at it pretty hard. Heck, if it was easy we might not need the hundreds of fashion magazines and beauy products that clutter the marketplace each month. But today I think I finally saw the ultimate unnatural beauty bit tip. Apparently you can reduce cellulite with injectable fillers according to Beverly Hills Dr. Kaplan.

In fact it was his number one hot summer tip on a press release I recently received!

Reduce Cellulite With Injectable Fillers. I usually see an increase in cosmetic procedures pre-summer for things like injectable fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra) and Botox. This only makes sense because Spring/Summer beauty trends lean toward natural looks and beautiful skin. Injectable fillers are a great way to enhance certain features on your face, and even help correct dimples caused by liposuction or irregular distribution of cellulite. If done correctly by an experienced dermatologist, your results should look very natural.

I guess this proves that with enough time and money any problem can be solved. I still don't know quite how I feel about that.
